Trump for president?

POTUS ?

For the most part, I consider it in poor taste to use social media, blogs included,  for the promotion of one's political ideology. *** i shall make an exception tonight.

Donald Trump is a joke wrapped inside a ltruckload of money  inside a moron.  More correctly, he's not a true moron. he's what used to be referred to as an idiot savant.
(I believe the politically correct term for the condition is currently "individual with Savant Syndrome." We must be politically correct. here. Typical savant abilities often include  unexplained musical talent, unusual calendar or other numerical skills, or unnnatural rote memory.  In the case of Donald Trump,  he has the skill to take a large sum of money and turn it into even more money. As far as whether he would have become rich had he started out as a pauper, only God knows.

Trump was, bacause of bad behavior,  kicked out of the prep school of which his father was a trustee. His parents felt they had no choice but to send him to military school. prep school must have provided some degree of reformation, as he earned a Bachelor's degree from Wharton school of business. Then again, it wouldn't be the first time a degree has been bought rather than earned.

Trump's recent derogatory statements about Mexican illegal imigrants, essentially that Mexico is not sending us its model citizens but instead, rapists and such, outraged many who are not even particularly sympathetic to the plight of Mexican immigrants.
his more recent rant in which he stated that senator john mccain was not a war hero because he allowed himself to be captured   offended  even McCain's  adversaries.

I was hoping Trump would at least be  good for a little comic relief, or at least he used to be, but he's not even  all the funny anymore.  I'd like to have enough faith in the American voting public to think his election, or even nomination, is an impossibility, but where so much money is involved, is anything an impossibility.

The only consolation I can think of at the moment is that the president doesn't really have as much power as many people assume. He still has the code that's inside  the little black box that's never more than a long arm's length from his reach, though.

***My rants against Mitt Romney were personal, not political.

  1. I saw a movie about Donald Trump. He bought a skyscraper in NYC that was in a bad neighborhood. He changed it into a good neighborhood. He loves real estate and loves making it beautiful. That is where his genius is. He should become mayor of New York and make all of New York beautiful. Also he needs to be tough in dealing with construction people. Maybe his bad behavior at the prep school helped him with that.

University of Pennsylvania is one of the top colleges in the country, but the Wharton students there are treated like gods and goddesses since it is the number one business school in the country. Trump's daughter Ivanka Trump also went there.

Senator Bernie Sanders has 4 children and 7 grandchildren and wants to make the United States a much better place to live. He has learned about other countries to find the best way to have a government. He talks about Denmark and how it has free college for everyone. So I just looked at what Wikipedia says about Denmark. Here is what it says:

"Danes enjoy a high standard of living and the country ranks highly in numerous comparisons of national performance, including education, health care, protection of civil liberties, democratic governance, prosperity and human development.[12][13][14] Denmark is frequently ranked as one of the happiest countries in the world in cross-national studies of happiness.[15][16][17] The country ranks as having the world's highest social mobility,[18] a high level of income equality,[19] has one of the world's highest per capita incomes, and has one of the world's highest personal income tax rates."

In America, he wants to tax the billionaires and use that money for free colleges and create many more jobs by improving highways and roads in America. He wants a national minimum wage of $15 an hour.

    1. I like Bernie Sanders. I'm just concerned that he's a bit too quirky to be electable at a national level. I've been wrong before, though.

    2. They say that this message of his years ago would not have done well but now many people are just fed up with how bad things are. Of course we will see if people are fed up enough. Also every year old people die and people turn 18.

  2. I might choose him over Mike Huckabee, though...

    1. I just lost a lengthy reply. i shall attempt to recreate it.

huckabee scares me, too. My fears are assuaged only by my belief that there are not quite enough voting fundies and arch-conservatieves to put him into the oval office even if he were nominated. god knows i've been wrong before, though, and were the koch brothers to get behind him, we might see him pushing buttons in the black box just to fulfill biblical prophecy.

What frightens me more than anything about trump is his wealth. if an election could literally be bought, he's the most likely candidate to pull it off. I hope karl Rove is out of the picture by then, but i can see Trump buying the election at the grass-rootts level, in a thoroughly non-tech manner. He could hire scads of helpers at low wages to go out into the poor neighborhoods and register people to vote and sign up for absentee ballots. His workers would then hand each of these low-income voters $20 to fill out the ballots right in from of them. Mail the balltos in, and enough of them, combined with those who would not vote for a democrat if guns were held to their heads, and trump could be elected without ever rigging a voting machine or messing with ballot counters. It sounds crazy and is, in fact, far-fetched, but crazy and far-fetched things sometimes happen.

Let's hope, prqay, light candles, think positive thoughts, or whatever it is we do when we want things to work out in our favor, that sanity prevails.

    2. Actually I do not think that Trump is smart enough to think of the above. But if he learns what you have written, he may use it. Really, I never thought of the above. But just like with individual karma, the group will get what it deserves.
