The Code

  1. I wonder if we're similar or if everyone gets that result. i can see how we both might have been low in the delegating/working with others areas because we never were willing to trust our own grades to totally incompetent idiots and preferred to do all the work ourselves. while I agree that a greater person than myself (you would probably say the same of yourself from your middle school, high school, and college experiences).could bring out the best in everyone within a group and find a way to motivate them all to contribute more fully, in the end that would have been far more difficult than just doing it all myself. I've been more concerned, for the most part, in preserving my own grade than in making the assignment a fulfilling for everyone involved and in generally making the world a better place. I'm not the reincarnated Norman Vincent Peale or freaking Mother Teresa.

Becca, if you're there, take the quiz thingy. I suspect you'll be a "thinker," too.

    1. Norman Vincent Peale's son was my philosophy prof. He was a jerk.

  2. Was he Norman Vincent Peale, Jr.? If so, I'd be inclined to think all those projections and expectations of positive thinking just slowly eroded his soul. If not, he was probably just your basic generic jerk.

    1. No, his name was John Peale. He was my friend's advisor and one time, he noticed all the Norman Vincent Peale books in his office. He said, "My parents love Norman Vincent Peale. Are you related?" He said it was his father... But seemed pissed
