Still in a Mood

I'm not quite past what is bothering me but I am at least able to meet up with another human being without glaring at the person or crying. My dad came into my room yesterday afternoon and said he was taking me to a movie. I said I didn't want to go. He carried me and some un-matching clothes he got out of my closet into my parents' bedroom so my mom could dress me and comb my hair, and then forced me into his car. I told him he was being a bit extreme, but he didn't care.

We saw "Green Hornet." It sucked in my humble opinion, but my dad thought it was sublime. Midlife-crisis-aged men have atrocious taste in movies. He kept shoving popcorn into my mouth throughout the whole movie. At one point I told him that if he shoved another piece of popcorn into my mouth I would spit it onto the floor. He said, "Don't you dare," but he quit shoving popcorn into my mouth.

We stopped at some gross restaurant that my dad really likes for dinner.
He offereed me a sip of his wine. Gawd, that stuff tastes gross. I can't fathom how anyone could become an alcoholic. It tastes almost as bad as cough syrup.

My pesudo-aunt called after I got home. She's the one who was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis just a month or so ago at the age of twenty-three. She had to quit her teaching job, but she's finishing law school. One of her law school professors was a real jerk and tried to cause major trouble for her, but she fought him and won. She wants me to come visit her in Utah on my next vacation from the facility. I may go.

  1. I'm in a mood too. If you lived closer, I'd invite you over so we could wallow and complain about our sucky lives.

  2. Becca,
My dad said you have an excuse for feeling sad but that i need to suck it up and will myself out of my mood because I'm dragging you donw with me. Then I rolled my eyes at him, which he hates. He tried to smother me with a pillow. He said he was just playing, but I'm not so sure. Anyway, my dad says he hopes you feel better.

  3. Infections can do that to you. One of my nephews had the flu before Christmas. He is still feeling low as a result and gets upset very easily.

    Maybe you need a tonic?

As for the wine? It depends what wine it was. Some reds taste like old leather, others taste like summer fruits. It depends on several factors, type of grape, soil used, etc., etc.

  4. My dad said it was Cabernet Savignon. It tasted like cough syrup.

I think I'd like a tonic. My dad finally brought an extra syringe home so they could shoot the cough syrup in the back of my throat and I wouldn't taste it so much. I could do that with the tonic as well. I'll ask.

My mom and dad said I can go to Utah in February to visit my pseudo-aunt. The Utah part doesn't thrill me, as since I'm not in the fold, returning to the mother ship isn't something I need, but I really like pseudo-aunt and uncle. Pseudo-uncle is in medical school so I may not see to much of him, but pseudo-aunt is home full-time now.

  5. Lexus,
I've been a complete ass since I was about 10. I'm sorry I made you feel bad in the process. Anderson is even more of an ass than I was. Don't listen to her. If anyone messes with you just tell me and I'll take care of it.

  6. You're not really dragging me down, it's all the other happy Carlo seeing patients that are making me sour. Really, really sour.

Please thank your dad for the well wishes. :) I hope you're feeling better too, Alexis!
