Thank God.

There should be a reality show in which reality show producers and commissioners are dumped on an uninhabitable, frozen island off the coast of Norway and left to fight it out amongst themselves.Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17774822085901274565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6485729541580426717.post-59707384447747212222011-09-05T18:00:18.901-07:002011-09-05T18:00:18.901-07:00Amelia, SCISSORS are the point. From Homo habilis ...Amelia, SCISSORS are the point. From Homo habilis until the present, we've known about the marvelous inventions known as tools.

i found "Little miss Sunshine" one of the most hysterical movies I've ever seen. I think i loved her talent potion the best. it did have its underlying social commentary.

i can't see how a sane person would enter his or her child in a kiddy beauty pageant. There are so many reasons not to go near such nonsense, from the idea that it does absolutely nothing to help a child to the idea that it probably warps their priorities to the possibility that it ould potentially expose a child to actual danger in the form of child predators. It's really not a laughing matter, but the parents are funny in a sad sort of way.AlexisARhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09797016673203467911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6485729541580426717.post-74752784828575242182011-09-05T12:45:35.482-07:002011-09-05T12:45:35.482-07:00I feel very bad for those children. Even if they ...I feel very bad for those children. Even if they are doing it by choice as opposed to being pushed into it by their parents, I just don't see how any of that is helping develop mentally stable kids. Have you ever seen Little Miss Sunshine? I enjoyed that movie, and it has an interesting view on the subject.

In my own defense, otter pops are really hard to open if you don't have scissors handy. :))Ameliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07115154893444857726noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6485729541580426717.post-47724301301562022182011-09-05T10:25:55.253-07:002011-09-05T10:25:55.253-07:00Becca,
I'll have to look up "Extreme Kids...Becca,
I'll have to look up "Extreme Kids' Parties." That one will be about as foreign to my own
experience as "Toddlers and Tiaras."AlexisARhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09797016673203467911noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6485729541580426717.post-75193559673197723242011-09-05T07:20:13.900-07:002011-09-05T07:20:13.900-07:00PS: Have you ever watched "Extreme Kid's...PS: Have you ever watched "Extreme Kid's Parties"? I think the kids there are just as bratty as the "Toddlers in Tiaras" and maybe even a little worse. There was a woman who spent $30,000 on a Pre-School graduation party. Gah! And that kid was such a brat. It was "medieval" themed. There was a magician and a giant maze and a dragon cake that blew fire. But the kid had a fit because it didn't blow smoke too.Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04680126268043179695noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6485729541580426717.post-13085947159215834772011-09-05T07:15:10.003-07:002011-09-05T07:15:10.003-07:00I watch the show in the hospital and occasionally ...I watch the show in the hospital and occasionally at home when there are no Doctor Who's on the DVR left. I don't know how any parent would feel comfortable letting their daughter (or, son!) participate in something that can be so degrading. If I have a daughter, I don't want to raise her with the idea that dressing a certain way, wearing lots of make-up and skimpy clothes is what beauty is. I don't want my “future fictitious” child to feel that beauty is everything because it's not.

I saw on the news the other day that there was a child that did a routine on the show as Dolly Parton, complete with fake boobs. On a 4 year old. Way to sexualize your daughter. And then of course, I think of Jon Benet, and all the creepy perverts watching these little girls on TV.

Obviously I come across as judgmental... but I digress. I'll go to confession later.Rebeccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04680126268043179695noreply@blogger.com
